Katelyn and Peter’s wedding day was one for the books! Not only was it my first wedding for 2024, but my first wedding at Stanly Hall Ballroom! It was a great way to kick off a busy wedding season and let me tell you… Katelyn and Peter’s crowd knew how to PARTY!

Their wedding day was beautiful! Working with Katelyn and Peter was a dream. They are both so sweet and chill and they truly embraced the moments throughout their wedding day. Despite the nerves and excitement that come with such an important occasion, they both remained calm, excited, and when they saw each other it was so perfect! Katelyn told me that when she saw Peter at the end of the isle she was overwhelmed with so much love and happiness -cue the water works!

I started off the day photographing details. It was a pretty chill morning, while the girls were finishing up on hair and makeup and the guys were having a good time hanging out up stairs in the Stanly Hall.

Katelyn wanted to do a special first look with her dad, Kevin. It was such a sweet moment to photograph. She surprised her dad with the sweetest gift of a custom tie patch with a picture of her when she was little and her dad on it . The next first look was extra special with Katelyn’s three brothers. I loved seeing their reaction to their sister in her wedding dress, it was so so sweet!

The ceremony was in cutest little white church downtown New Bern at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. When Katelyn entered the church she was absolutely glowing. I loved capturing Peter’s reactions! He was just in awe of Katelyn has she was walking towards him. One of my favorite moments of the ceremony was Katelyn and Peter just being in the moment. It was like they were the only ones in the room as they were smiling at each other, saying “I love you”, and whispering sweet things to one another. It was so special to photograph that between them.

After the ceremony, it started sprinkling rain! Nothing like a touch of good luck as soon as you get married! When we were outside, we jumped into family formals and then bridal party! This was a big bridal party group, 9 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen. This group definitely got the party started for Katelyn and Peter as they cheered them on during the photos and all the KISSES!

We all headed into the trolley for a big group photo! Then, we went and dropped off the bridal party at the reception and then it was time for Katelyn and Peter to have some time for themselves. As they cuddled on the trolley we headed to our next spot for their Newly Wed portraits near the water front.

While in New Bern you can’t skip out on stopping by the Original Birthplace of Pepsi! The trolley dropped us off for Katelyn and Peter to grab a couple pictures in the store. The sweetest couple there bought the newly weds glassed bottle Pepsi’s for them to enjoy, it was so kind of them to do that. As they took a moment to themselves enjoying a much needed cold Pepsi it was so much fun to photograph them in the Pepsi store!

The reception was the thrill of the night! From the sweet and funny toast from the Matron of honor, Maid of Honor and the Best Man to everyone on the dance floor it was certainly a PARTY! Katelyn and Peter even got a special concert from their little nieces singing Taylor Swift with the Best Man… needless to say it was EPIC!
