This past weekend, I traveled to Hiddenite, NC, to capture Julia and Garrett’s gorgeous hillside wedding at The Emerald Hill. The day was full of vibrant colors, beautiful scenery, and the love of family and friends ready to celebrate.
The day began with excitement as I met Julia and Garrett. Julia was glowing as she got ready for her big day. We’d spent so much time chatting all things wedding, and it was incredible to see it all come together. Garrett was just as eager. He couldn’t wait to see his bride and start the celebrations!
I absolutely loved Julia’s wedding colors. Many of my couples have chosen blues this year (which I adore!), but Julia went bold with her bright, fall-inspired palette. It was a fun change, and her vision came to life perfectly.
The morning was filled with special moments. We kicked off the day with champagne and some adorable PJ photos of Julia and her bridesmaids. While the girls were getting dressed, Kaylee (the maid of honor) and Jennifer (the matron of honor) delivered a gift to Garrett from Julia. His reaction was priceless, and the moment was so sweet.
Julia’s mom, Amy, helped her into her stunning gown. It was a touching moment, full of love. Julia looked radiant, and her dress sparkled just like she did. Her sister and sister-in-law added the final touches with her jewelry, and we were all gushing over her beauty.
One of my favorite moments was Julia’s first look with her dad and brother. I love adding these moments into a wedding day. They create lasting memories. Her bridesmaids watched from the window, getting emotional as they saw the reactions.
Before the ceremony, Julia and Garrett had a “first touch” and shared private vows. The view of the hills behind them was stunning. It was a peaceful and emotional moment. On a funny note, each of the groomsmen gave Garrett a toy car once they came down the isle as a joke. Garrett had 6 toy cars stuffed in his pocket. I thought that was so funny that they did that. Since they chose not to do a first look, Garrett’s reaction when he saw Julia walking down the aisle was priceless. You could feel the love between them.
After the vows, the sun burst through the clouds as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife. It truly felt like God was shining His light on their new beginning. From there, it was time to celebrate, and what a party it was!
We snuck away at sunset for a quiet moment and some beautiful couple portraits. The Blue Ridge Mountains made for a perfect backdrop. Back at the venue, the speeches had everyone laughing and crying. It was clear how much love surrounded Julia and Garrett.
As the night went on, the dance floor filled up, and everyone danced the night away. The Joneses left in style, making their getaway in a memorable fashion.
