New Year’s Eve Surprise Proposal | Oak Island, NC | Jake + Caroline

Nothing like ringing in the New Year with an engagement ring!

I had to end 2022 with a bang! I mean what better way to do that then with capturing a surprise proposal! Jake messaged me on Instagram to see what my available was like and to see if I would help capture the proposal to his girlfriend, Caroline. From there we started planning how everything will be done the day of.

(Side note: Jake sent me a picture of him and Caroline, so I know what they both look like for the surprise proposal. It was such a small world moment because when Jake sent me a picture of them both I was like OMG I went to high school with Caroline!)

Jake, Caroline, and his family were going to be down in Oak Island, North Carolina to celebrate the New Year and of course the proposal! Jake said he was planning on going on a walk on the beach with Caroline around 4 and that’s where he would pop the question.

December 31st, 2022, quickly came and of course in North Carolina there was a chance of rain. Our plan B was to move the time up, but luckily we only had some drizzles here and there, so we decided to keep the same time we planned for. It was however a pretty foggy day on the beach and it was completely rid of people. Perfect for a special private moment for Jake and Caroline.

When Caroline said YES! You could hear family cheering in the distances. Caroline’s parents surprised her too, which was such a sweet moment to witness has she ran to her parents to celebrate. You could definitely feel the love between Jake and Caroline and their families as they celebrate in the next chapter for Jake and Caroline.
